Scenic path and
trail design requires a special sensitivity to purpose, theme,
environment and site conditions. Our landscape architects and
engineers have successfully exhibited this sensitivity on an extensive
number of projects. Whether a feature's purpose is to provide a means to
get from one point to another, or simply to provide people an outdoor
experience, we combine our clients' needs with our creativity and
analysis of site conditions to develop functional, pleasing results. |

High Cliff Park Trail, Galesville, Wisconsin |
|
 |
|
|
|
This project involved the repair of a severely eroded area on High Cliff
Park Trail in Galesville, Wisconsin. We prepared the survey of
existing conditions, provided design solutions and performed
construction inspection.
Gabion baskets, boulder retaining walls and
rock excavation were used along with trail edge stabilization. The
project included new surface aggregate and native plantings to obtain a
solution with minimal environmental disturbance. |

Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, La Crosse, Wisconsin |

|
This pathway was designed in connection with the Our
Lady of Guadalupe Shrine. It required "surgical"
placement of the trail in a densely forested hillside, with minimum disturbance to
trees and other vegetation.
Extreme slopes required extensive use of gabions. Erosion control
measures were key to the project to ensure the integrity of the trail
and the surrounding terrain.
