Landscape design is required for
practically every project, large or small. It involves site
layout, drainage design, planting plans, and erosion control. We at
Paragon understand that landscape features showcase a project, and are
extraordinarily sensitive to aesthetics, the environment, clients' needs,
site conditions and municipal requirements. |

Paragon Associates
partnered with Ken Saiki Design of Madison, WI to prepare the master
plan and construction documents for the Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine
located south of La Crosse, Wisconsin
The Shrine master plan consists of a Pilgrim Center,
Chapel, 400-seat
Church,
Catechetical Center and Rectory, Convent, scenic trails, gardens, and
outdoor devotional areas. The multi-phased project presented unique site
challenges, including:
-
Steep grade changes
-
No existing
City utilities on-site
-
Development of 2000 linear feet of asphalt trail on 20-30% slopes
-
Design of specialized retainment systems to stabilize trail subgrade
-
Tight construction limits to minimize site disturbance and retain the
beauty of the existing woodlands

Located in historic
downtown La Crosse, the design of this facility required conformance
with the historic quality present in its surroundings. In addition to
providing parking and utility extensions to the building, Paragon’s
landscape architects used a variety of plants and structural site
improvements to give the site a pleasant and functional environment
within this confined downtown setting.
These elements included custom iron fencing, durable ground covers,
brick paving and specially finished concrete paving. |
