The basic
element in almost every project is infrastructure - streets, water
lines, sanitary and storm sewers, roads. Infrastructure is the backbone of
every project, establishing the project's practical limits and
aesthetic qualities. Infrastructure design begins at the
conceptual stage, thereby ensuring that all aspects of the project are
taken into consideration. Infrastructure calls upon all our skills
and services, including our landscape architectural expertise, to make
sure we preserve and augment the existing environmental setting. |

Paragon Associates was commissioned to complete the site surveying and
soil remediation engineering for Corgan Associates, Inc. of Dallas,
Texas for CenturyTel's new Midwest Regional Headquarters. Paragon
coordinated services provided by the City of La Crosse, CenturyTel, environmental engineers,
and geotechnical engineers to facilitate the development of this
seven-story office building and parking ramp on a Brownfield site.
Located along the convergence of the
Black, Mississippi and La Crosse Rivers of La Crosse, Wisconsin, the building
site offered unique challenges because of its location in the flood
plain and unstable soil conditions. Our work included the
preparation of the bid
package and plans and specifications to reflect the constraints of the
hazardous and contaminated soils on the site. We prepared plans to
manage the removal of the contaminated soil and to elevate the new building
site out of the floodplain. Our design services included the development
of grading,
erosion control, sanitary sewer, water, and storm sewer plans.
Paragon coordinated site work activity, provided site construction inspection.
