WORK EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

Nine years experience in a wide range of engineering projects, including municipal utility design, subdivision design, highway engineering, and bicycle and walking trail design. Expertise includes roadway design, erosion control, retention ponds, earthwork computations, utility design, use of multiple computer aided drafting software programs, and computer software management.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

December, 1999 - Present. Paragon Associates, Inc. Provide project engineering, project management services, and inspection services. Provide computer network system support.

May 1998 - August, 1999. Paragon Associates, Inc., La Crosse, Wisconsin. Civil engineer internship. Provided inspection for engineering projects. Produced AUTOCAD drawings for construction documents. Assisted in the design of soil retention systems, utilities and roadways, slope analysis and earthwork computations. Managed computer hardware and software systems. Assisted surveyors with surveying and drafting.

PROJECT EXPERIENCE

City of Galesville, Wisconsin, High Cliff Park Trail, Galesville, Wisconsin, 2001. Walking trail along side bank of cliff. Project included the design for repairing several eroded areas using gabion baskets, boulder retaining walls, rock excavation, and trail edge stabilization techniques. Solutions included native plantings with minimal environmental disturbance.

Village of Cashton, 2003 to present. Responsible for two recent projects: curb and gutter and storm sewer design on existing street; and subdivision design including all utilities. Both projects required specification preparation, contract negotiation, coordination with contractor and bid opening.

Village of West Salem, County Trunk Highway "C", West Salem, Wisconsin, 2000. One mile of urban roadway rehabilitation. Project included sanitary and storm sewer replacement, new water main and laterals, curb replacement, and asphalt paving.

Grand Stay Hotels in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Ames, Iowa, 2003 to present: Provided engineering services on a demanding schedule and exacting design standards. Services included site layout, utilities design, retention pond design.

La Crosse County, Wisconsin, Lakeview Industrial Park, West Salem, Wisconsin, 2003. First phase of a 160-acre industrial park development, involving utilities design, grading, surveying, construction staking and sanitary lift station design. Mr. Pogodzinski designed the utilities, grading plan, and road alignment.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, La Crosse, Wisconsin, 2002 to present. Paragon provided extensive engineering and landscape architectural services for this project with challenging site conditions and environmental preservation standards, as subcontractor for River Architects, Inc. The project is located on a unique 70-acre site and involves a pilgrimage center, worship center, chapels and walking paths, among steep grades and limited disturbance areas. Mr. Pogodzinski designed soil revetment structures, retaining walls, paved walking trails, storm sewer and water supply systems and stormwater retention ponds.

Beaver Creek I and II residential subdivisions, located in Galesville, Wisconsin, 2003 to present. The project, throughout the design phase, was under intense scrutiny by multiple municipalities, and demanding site layout standards by the client. Mr. Pogodzinski provided the site layout, hydrology design, roadway design, erosion control design and inspection.

Monroe County Highway Department, 2004. Prepared design for the re-alignment of a section of county road. The design involved a 35-foot cut and challenging terrain.

Thurn Manufacturing Company in Winona, Minnesota, early 2004 to present. For the architect, provided the grading plan, utilities design and erosion control design. Challenges involved limited municipal stormwater capacity, which necessitated temporary on-site ponding.

Gerrard Corporation, La Crosse, Wisconsin, Second Gerrard Addition. Residential subdivision

development. Mr. Pogodzinski’s tasks involved grading and utilities design, road alignment design, and large box culvert design.

La Crosse County, La Crosse County Trail, West Salem, Wisconsin, 2002. Project included the design of connecting the La Crosse County trail with the Village of West Salem, Wisconsin. Project included the design of a trail through a marsh and up a steep slope, grading, storm sewer, signage,

Village of West Salem, Wisconsin, Mapping, Ongoing. Updating CAD modifications to the Village of West Salem’s CAD mappings of roadways, utilities, and lot locations into the county coordinate system.
